Infertility Insurance News!!!
New York State Update, Provided by John Wilson
Efforts continue to pass New York State legislation requiring full third-party coverage for infertility therapy (including IVF). Last year we came very close when the Assembly and Senate each passed their own bills (A 7303/ S 3131). Unfortunately, at 2 AM on the last day of the legislative session a compromise between the two versions failed. This year the two houses have again introduced their versions of infertility insurance bills (A2003/S1265). In order for meaningful infertility insurance legislation to pass, the Assembly and Senate MUST compromise. We are placing a heavy emphasis on convincing senators from western New York to help us.
We need your help!
We need your phone calls, letters and e-mails to your state senators urging them to pass meaningful infertility insurance coverage THIS SESSION.

If you are not sure of the name of your state senator, you can find out on the New York State Senate's web page or by calling John Wilson at 413-663-9925 or emailing John at johnhwilson@prodigy.net. John is a political consultant who has volunteered to help us in this effort. |
| Help from friends, relatives and other support organizations welcome, too.Your friends and relatives can help, too, by calling their state senators to express their support for infertility legislation. Do you belong to any of the following organizations? Nurse association, labor union, Junior League, teachers association? If so, ask them to support infertility insurance coverage in New York State by writing a letter of support to their state senator and to Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno. If your doctor belongs to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, ask him/her to call upon them for their support of New York's infertility legislation. |
